    The Romanian agent, Mr. Sabin Liviu Gherdan, filed claims against two Romanian players, Mr. Teodora Neagu and Mr. Tunde Kilin, for compensation, interest and costs. In accordance with Article 16.2 of the BAT Rules, the Arbitrator issued an award without reasons.

    Famila Basket Schio srl SSD v/ Chinenye Joy Ogwumike & Sports International Group Inc v/ Famila Basket Schio srl SSD
    In case BAT 0668/15, the Italian Club Famila Basket Schio srl SSD filed a claim against the American Player Chinenye Joy Ogwumike for compensation for breach of contract, submitting that the Player did not disclose a pre-existing injury when she signed the Player’s Contract. The Player in turn filed a counter-claim for outstanding salaries, compensation for breach of contract and medical expenses, submitting that she did not have a pre-existing injury and that she was allowed to terminate her Contract after putting the Club on notice, which had undertaken to pay all of the Player’s medical expenses for injuries suffered during the term of her contract.

    B.I.G. Management, Wassermann Media Group v/ Ivanov, Vasilevski
    The Greek Agency B.I.G. Management filed a claim against the North Macedonian Players Dimitar Ivanov and Nikola Vasilevski for outstanding agent fees and interest. The Claimant submitted that the Respondents unlawfully terminated the respective representation contracts. Thus, the Claimant seeks compensation for the employment contracts entered into by the Respondents after the unlawful termination of their representation contracts. In their Answer, the Respondents argued that the BAT lacks jurisdiction since there is no valid agreement by the parties in favour of the BAT. The claim was dismissed.

    Bambale Mbulatale Emmanuel Osby, Evaldas Rimkus v/ Afyon Belediye Kulübü
    The American Player Bambale Mbulatale Emmanuel Osby and the Lithuanian Agent Evaldas Rimkus filed claims against the Turkish Club Afyon Belediye Kulübü for outstanding amounts, agent fee and interest, submitting that the Club failed to make the respective payments. The Club submitted, inter alia, that it had already terminated the Player Contract because of the Player’s misbehavior. In the meantime, the Club fulfilled its payment duty towards the Agent. The Arbitrator partially upheld the claim.

    Kulig v/ Trabzonspor Basketbol Kulübü Dernegi
    The Polish Player Damian Kulig filed a claim against the Turkish Club Trabzonspor Basketbol Kulübü Dernegi for outstanding salaries, termination fee, late payment penalties and interest. The Claimant submitted that the Respondent breached the contractual relationship by failing to pay about half of his total salary for the 2015/16 season and failed to pay the termination fee provided in the Contract. In its Answer, the Respondent did not contest the debt but stated that due to the Club’s poor results, it was no longer able to pay the salaries of its players. The claim was partially upheld.
